Throwing his hat into the world of NFTs is Los Angeles Rams Safety Taylor Rapp. Rapp, who is Asian-American (his mother is Chinese), is launching his series of tokens in a bid to raise and contribute money to the #StopAsianHate GoFundMe page. Upset with the latest rash of hate crimes against Asians that has taken place across the country, Rapp wants to take advantage of his status and the NFT craze to give back to his community. He tells CNBC:
“I wanted to help my people, and what better way to raise money right now to donate than through creating an NFT collection and using my platform.”

When so much of the narrative regarding NFTs revolves around greed and excess, it is gratifying to see a high profile series of tokens launch deprived of the pretense of watching already rich people find novel, frivolous ways to grow even richer. With heartwarming purpose in hand, what exactly will Rapp be releasing? His team intends to launch 6 digital collections, auctioning off a total of 90 NFTs on OpenSea.IO (same marketplace where Gronk dropped his collection). You can locate the auction via the title: Taylor Rapp- Year of the Ox Collection. The details of the series are as follows:

Clever to mix and match NFL moments (which will they be?) from Rapp’s career with his Chinese heritage, something not commonly seen together throughout the history of the sport. It is refreshing to see new cultures get spun into the fabric of football history. Can any of you actually name any Asian football players? We love seeing Rapp embracing his roots and sharing it with the rest of us, especially in the form of digital collectibles. May the Year of the Ox be a blessed one!
Stay tuned as we are to further cover this auction, the NFTs being released, and any other happenings surrounding this collection.
