Time to celebrate our neighbors to the north. Reigning CFL Most Outstanding Player Brandon “Speedy” Banks is going digital with the release of the first ever NFT digital collectible from a CFL player. I am not going to BS you, my audience, with pretending to know anything about the CFL at all. I know Toronto has a team called the Argonauts. I know the rules aren’t exactly the same and the field might be a bit longer. That is the totality of my CFL knowledge. Nonetheless, M & G Collections has provided us some maple syrup by way of this Canadian token. Let’s see what we got:
Brandon Banks NFT

Now, this is it. About as limited as my CFL know-how. Thankfully, being limited is a good thing in the world of NFTs. This collection features a single 1/1 rare token, so listen up my Canadian friends, you had one chance to pounce on this bad boy. Being an M&G NFT, this makes it related to the Sheldrick Redwine item we had seen before. The similarity in the artwork shows. It is a very similar trading card style NFT, albeit the color scheme is different to accommodate for Banks’ team, the Tiger-Cats. Allow me one moment to identify where that team is from… Ah, yes, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats! Now, one more moment to learn where exactly that is in Canada.. Of course! Hamilton, Ontario. Bless you, Canada, you know we love you. The visual introduces some dynamism with the image of Banks appearing somewhat glitchy, giving off that sense of speed that the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player is known for. Also featured is Banks’ signature in blue pen strokes across the right side of the image. Jokes aside, we have a solid offering here showcasing the best player in the league last year. That is always an easy bet worth celebrating. Someone else had the same idea, as this puppy sold at auction for 1 wETH. Great job Canada!
