It is time for the youths of the NFL (potentially) to start getting in on the NFT action. In a first for an NFL draft prospect, Zach Davidson, Tight End and Punter (you read that right), out of Central Missouri, is releasing a collection of digital collectibles in anticipation of the 2021 NFL Draft. I am going to be real once more and tell you honestly, I just don’t know a whole bunch about this kid. Small program prospect, but doesn’t mean he can’t be a big time NFL contributor in his career. This kid is 6′ 6″, scored 15 touchdowns as a Junior in 2019, and has been the team’s starting Punter since being a Freshman. This is the type of freaky versatility that can land him on a roster, and work towards a unique NFL career. Add to that a penchant for participating in some trendy innovative tech and you come up with this fun little collection below. Now, let’s take a look at what this kid has in store for us:
Zach Davidson Rare Fire

Davidson has released a simple enough collection with three different types of tokens. The first one, as we can see here, is the Zach Davidson Rare Fire edition, that was minted as a set of 30. That’s right, you have 30 chances to try and land one of these collectibles. Being a multi-faceted football player, the series is thematically based on opposing elements, Fire and Ice. Artistically, they are about the same, with the Fire series having more of a fire-y orange-purple gradient type of filter applied to the graphic, which follows the standard trading card style format we have seen so much of. The graphic features Davidson, ball tucked in his left hand, looking like he’s making moves down the field. The card has a border frame, wrapping the graphic, with the player’s name and signature featured on the top and bottom of the enclosure. Davidson had a sale of 0.037 ETH on the 12th edition of this card. Not bad for the ole college try.
Zach Davidson Rare Ice

As mentioned, the Zach Davidson Rare Ice token is near identical to the Fire series. We have only two differences visually. A) the filter is more of an ice-cold blue to purpler type of gradient and B) for whatever reason, the artist found it important to swap the player’s signature with the print version of his name. The locations are the same on where they fall on the card artwork. Also worth noting is that this collection also features a total of 30 editions minted. Unfortunately, none of these editions sold at auction at all.. I would recommend trying to swoop in and making an offer.
Zach Davidson Legendary Gold
The best for last, as we like to do on Touchdownnft.com. Here, we have the Zach Davidson Legendary Gold 1/1 NFT. This is the most rare piece of the entire collection. Visually, we do not have anything drastically different than either of the two pieces reviewed above, but we do have some minor variances that lend itself well to the theme. First, we finally get a whole body picture of the player. Though the picture is the same, we only could see Davidson from the waist up in the previous artworks. This card features the TE, legs included, in a full gallop. The other change is the filter, once again, this time applying a gold hue to the entire image. This can be seen as a blend of the previous elements to create a single legend. Whether fire or ice, or punting or catching passes, Davidson seems ready to make an impact, no matter which facet of the game calls for his contribution. Once again, unfortunate that this item did not seem to sell at auction, but perhaps this creates the opportunity for a bargain.
